About Aliya Cycon
Oud player, singer and composer. The first female oud player to graduate from Berklee College of Music. Current musical projects include Aliya and the New Andalus, a new quartet fusing Flamenco, Arabic music, pop and other styles from the Iberian Peninsula and Aliya Cycon Project, an international orchestral project that plays her original compositions around the world in collaboration with cultural centers and the US Embassy. Recent tours include Jordan, Tunisia and Kuwait. A skilled arranger and music director who specializes in rhythm section, string and horn arranging for global music styles.
