About Aliya Glatt
Anthropology is much more than a major for me. It is my passion. My research interests focus primarily on Linguistic Anthropology and non-human primate communication. Currently, I am the Lab Manager of Dr. Erica Cartmill's LING Lab at UCLA, where I am a graduate student in UCLA's Master of Social Science program. I brought my love of anthropology onto the (virtual) campus at my community college throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, tutoring students of diverse backgrounds in all four fields of the discipline. I intend to pursue a PhD in Linguistic Anthropology and eventually teach. I have learned many important life lessons from the discipline of anthropology, including the values of inclusivity, curiosity, patience, persistence, and acceptance. Above all, anthropology has taught me to be true to myself and who I am, and that I should continue making the world a better place in all the ways I can.
