About Aliyah Carson
I am a freshman at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. As a biomedical engineering major on the pre medicine track, I am interested in synthesizing skills, acquired from both practical medicine and technological research, into substantial projects. I am currently limited on academic, volunteer, and professional experience in regard to my college career. I am currently employed with UAB medicine as a part- time Patient Care Technician on the Trauma Recovery Unit. I have acquired around 12 hours of shadowing with the Ortho Trauma Team at UAB. I also participate in a women's "small group" with my local church. Current projects that I have picked up while in college that will begin soon include: Volunteering with both Hearts 4 Homeless and STEMOutreach, joining a BME Research Lab, involvement with the BME Society, and joining a chapter of my local church's "DREAM TEAM" Leadership.
