About Allan Carson

As a researcher devoted to the discipline of plant science, I have accumulated a wide range of experience in the practice of applied biology in British Columbia over the last 18 years. My areas of practice have included design and implementation of revegetation research trials, native plant materials collection and propagation, identification and photo-documentation of native plant species, wildlife habitat assessments and mapping (e.g, Caribou), agronomic and native grass seeding prescriptions (e.g, hydroseeding operations) and assessments of first nations traditional use resources (e.g, medicinal plants, mushrooms). In addition to my pursuits in plant science, I have also gained a wealth of experience conducting inventory and monitoring surveys for a variety of wildlife taxa (e.g, large and small mammals, fish, birds and amphibians). In my development as a professional, I have learned the value in taking initiative and providing leadership, in networking with clientele and colleagues, and in continually investigating collaborative research opportunities with other companies and organizations. Recognizing opportunities to connect and develop meaningful and effective relationships with clients and fellow practitioners has been by far my greatest resource and the main driver for all of the success I have achieved in my career.
