Background
About Allen Clark
Motivational Speaker | Decorated Combat Veteran | Former Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs | Author | Veterans Advocate | Founder of Combat Faith Specialties: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Christian faith, American history, national security As a severely disabled war veteran (double-leg amputee and severe PTSD survivor), public servant, and commissioned Army officer, I have developed a variety of experiences on which I make approximately 60 speeches per year. My approach is faith-based. My story can be found at Author of three books: Soldiers Blood and Bloodied Money: Wars and the Ruling Elites Wounded Soldier, Healing Warrior, my autobiography and Valor in Vietnam: Chronicles of Honor, Courage and Sacrifice: 1963 - 1977 I enjoy blogging about politics, history, and life at After my recovery, I earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University and began my business career with H. Ross Perot, who called my journey one of “struggle, perseverance, courage, and hope.” I later held leadership roles at Republic National Bank of Dallas, worked in the energy sector as president of a Midland-based oil company, and co-founded a commercial real estate investment firm. I was honored to serve as Special Assistant to Texas Governor Bill Clements and, later, as Assistant Secretary for Veterans Liaison and Program Coordination in the Department of Veterans Affairs under President George H.W. Bush. I also directed the National Cemetery System, leading key modernization reforms. In recent years, I’ve been humbled to receive the Patriot Award from the Greater Dallas Military Foundation, the Sons of the Flag Legacy Award, inclusion in the West Point Association of Graduates’ 2023 Vietnam portrait series, and recognition at the 2025 DAR State Conference as a nominee for the Ellen Hardin Walworth Medal for Patriotism. I remain active in veteran outreach, mentoring, and public speaking rooted in faith, patriotism, and “There are a host of heroes to whom this country owes a debt it can never repay. Allen Clark lost both his legs while serving his country in Vietnam. When he came home, his body was broken, but his spirit never faltered. He went back to school. He earned his masters degree in business administration. He served his state in a high government post and is now a successful businessman. He’s an inspiration to all who know him.” - President Ronald Reagan, The White House
