About Allen Ferro

I was 15 years old when I began my career in media. I worked part time at a well known advertising agency, shooting exposure tests and simple multi-pass opticals on an Oxberry 35/16 mm camera. Most of my time was spent in the art department preparing the camera-ready art for composite. My next big opportunity came during 1978 when I worked for Hal Ashby productions. The first feature that I officially worked on was “Being There” I was an apprentice editor. Later, the following year, I would become a member of MPEG local 776 (now IATSE local 700) while working on most of Hal’s films up till the Rolling Stones concert movie. Next, I would work for a well known sound design company (Echo Sound), as an assistant editor - This is where I became familiar with sound engineering, Foley and ADR recording and ultimately, the art of sound design. My first break in motion picture marketing came from Jim Gibbons, of Flamingo Films in Hollywood. This is where I would learn the art of Motion Picture Marketing and creative editing for Trailers and television spots. I communicated and worked side by side with the post supervisors of all the major motion picture companies. I was also working a second job as a creative producer for Pablo Ferro. Next was Full Moon Pictures Where I headed post to deliver 20 features to Paramount Pictures studios. Concurrent, I worked at Paramount Pictures. I supervised the post production of trailers, television spots and the sound design of most of the behind the scenes projects for their Publicity Marketing team. Today, I specialize in Internet technology and multi-media production. I’m a creative producer, editor and journalist photographer with the NPPA. I work with clients ranging from Major Studios and various top talent in the industry to product manufacturers and web-based businesses. I'm a WiX Certified Webmaster / Agile Scrum Project management / designer of GUI / UX business sites. As a hobby, I'm a practical artist and darn good musician.
