About Allen Morris
Allen Morris began his career in 1969 operating puppets on a local children's show at KTRE-TV9. He was a partner in VT2 Studios and founding owner of Belay Media LLC. He traveled the globe, earning recognition from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences: one national and 4 regional Emmy’s. In addition, his work received recognition from Addy Awards, American Marketing Association, Associated Press, Clio Awards, Country Music Association of America, Dallas Press Club, International Association of Business Communicators, National Association of Television Programming Executives, The New York Festivals, Telly Awards and Texas Public Relations Society. In Egypt in 1986, Allen directed “ALEXANDRIA: MONUMENT TO CIVILIZATION.” Chronicling the influence of the ancient city on the cultural development of western civilization, his crew received unprecedented access to archaeological sites. During the Gulf War, Allen and crew traveled to Israel; returning with the first interview in which Yitzhak Rabin said he would consider “land for peace." Allen maintains a commitment to community service that began as a teenager. He produced documentaries and marketing materials raising over $250 million for worthy causes. Among the boards he served are: United Way, YMCA, Crime Stoppers, and Arthritis Foundation; The Boy Scouts, Texas Department of Mental Health; sponsor and counselor for Explorer Scouting and Junior Achievement. In 2009 Allen was honored as Humanitarian of the Year by the Children’s Assessment Center in Houston in recognition of his work for that organization. Allen serves on the board of the Lone Star Chapter, and is a Trustee of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), and is a voting member The Television Academy in Los Angeles. In November 2019, Allen was inducted into THE GOLD CIRCLEof the National Academy of Television Arts and Science in recognition of his more than fifty years working in the broadcast television industry. He served four terms as co-chair of Lone Star College District's Visual Communications Curriculum Board. His most recent work is the 2021 feature-length documentary about a 60s Texas-based rock band called MOUSE AND THE TRAPS: WALKING IN DYLAN'S SHOES, which includes six of the bands songs from the 60s and five in-studio performances Dylan songs from their latest album "Walking in Dylan's Shoes."
