About Allen Tew

With over 15 years in the hotel industry, I pride myself on having worked my way up from the very bottom. I started off as a waiter on a zero hour contract, to working bar, weddings, events, and housekeeping before moving onto the front desk full time. From here, I gained an understanding of the industry from a business perspective and moved into basic marketing where I learned how to promote hotels on social media and websites. I was lucky to then move into sales at the Holiday Inn Express Kettering where my responsibilities were group bookings, conference bookings and all sales activity, from corporate rates to basic revenue management. I would also operate all social media channels and promote the hotel to the local community. I would also be active in networking with the local business community where I would complete award entries, write local press articles and other basic ground level marketing. One of my proudest moments was winning the Hospitality Star of the Year award at the local Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Next Generation Business Awards.
