Background

About Allison Borrego

Actively fulfilling my role as a registered dietitian in long term care and skilled nursing facilities. I completed my dietetic internship and master’s academic program in May 2024, which gave me valuable exposure to the variety of roles and environments in the field of dietetics. I am interested in many areas of dietetics and strive to continuously expand my knowledge regarding nutrition and health. Diet and nutrition have always played a significant role in my life, influenced by my family’s long list of food allergies. It took my mother years to identify the ingredients triggering her allergic reactions due to the limited information available at the time, but this experience taught me at a young age, the importance of perseverance in finding solutions. I believe this foundational lesson has shaped my passion for problem-solving and my commitment to lifelong learning, all aimed at enhancing the quality of care I provide.
