About Allison Boyer

Hello! My name is Allie, and I recently graduated with my degree in Parks and Recreation Management from Northern Arizona University. My biggest passion in life has been working to help save orangutans from extinction. At the age of seven, I set out with a goal to help them because I fell in love with their intelligence and their sweet nature. I began Purses for Primates in middle school to raise funds and awareness for Orangutan Outreach's rescue centers, and I feel so thankful for the success it had and the lessons it taught me. I collected and re-sold gently used purses at pop-up shops or garage sales, and over the years I was able to raise around to help rescue centers. I had the wonderful opportunity to be featured on Nickeloadeon's show The Halo Effect, where they filmed a half-hour mini-documentary on my work.
