About Allison Brim
I am a native of Charlotte, NC and earned my BA from Duke University. After moving to Dallas, TX in 2005, I began my professional community organizing career. In 2009 I worked with an all-star group of organizers to co-found the Texas Organizing Project (TOP), a nonprofit organization fighting for racial and economic justice. I currently serve as Organizing Director at TOP, where I have worked with a team to grow the organization to a staff of 50 that has won $126 million in annual revenue for Dallas public schools, reformed the bail system in Harris County, and encouraged disengaged 1.6 million voters of color to cast their ballots. In 2019 I partnered with Joe Estelle to found the Oak Cliff Community Investment Fund and RevitalRise, where I brings my community and political organizing skills to realize both companies' vision of lessening the racial wealth gap by building planned mixed-use developments where Black families can live, work, and thrive economically through ownership of their homes and the communities themselves.
