Background
About Allison Croul
I am a student of Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. I am also pursuing a certificate through Pepperdine’s Palmer Center Fellowship Program with an emphasis in Intellectual Property Law. I formerly served as a member of the Moot Court Board, and currently serve as the president of the Intellectual Property Student Association. I am also an active participant in the Federalist Society and Women’s Legal Association. Previously, I graduated from Loyola Marymount University’s Health Care Systems Engineering Master’s Program which is a premier, comprehensive program designed to develop knowledge to improve the efficiency of the nation’s healthcare systems. In the program, I worked alongside Kaiser Permanente physicians and executives to identify and solve challenges addressed in the 2014 President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) report using a Lean Systems Engineering approach. As an undergraduate studying chemistry, I performed an ongoing research project alongside Dr. Nicole Bouvier-Brown focusing on the Biogenic Volatile Organic Compounds (BVOCs) emitted by both native and non-native plants in response to temperature and rainfall fluctuation in the Los Angeles area. By identifying the high emitters via GC-MS instrumentation and observing the interplay of the BVOCs with the atmosphere’s chemistry, environmentally dangerous plants can be more strategically planted in specific climates where they do not have the proclivity to emit BVOCs in high volumes, thus protecting the atmosphere from deteriorating. I also served as the President of the Loyola Marymount University’s American Chemistry Society for the 2015-2016 academic year, as well as being awarded the Michael P. Geis Service Award for the most significant contributor to the Chemistry and Biochemistry department.
