About Allison Day

I am a licensed independent social worker, with a master’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University with a focus in mental health and substance use. I also received bachelor’s degrees in social work and business administration from The Ohio State University. I have had a lifelong passion for trauma informed care and mental health as my family has been a foster family throughout my life. I currently work at Matrix Psychological Services and provide individual therapy to adults and teenagers, ages 13 and up. We have in person and virtual options in an outpatient setting. I use evidenced based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and others, to help my clients reach their goals. I believe in taking the time to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each individual client and have a background in working with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, and trauma. I have experience helping people heal from a variety of traumatic experiences such as complex and childhood trauma, various forms of abuse and assault, as well as abusive relationships.
