About Allison Dobyns

I am a Senior at North Carolina State University pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering. From working three rounds of internships, I have found my passion in Automotive Manufacturing and plan to seek a career in manufacturing upon graduation in May 2025. At NC State, I currently hold an internship position in the Global Training Initiative (since August 2022) working specifically as a Developing Cultural Competence Virtual Exchange Program Facilitator and promoting the certification course to students all around campus, but mostly in the Engineering Department. I am a Global Ambassador, volunteering in the Office of Global Engagement, helping to further acclimate and welcome Exchange Students to our college campus. I also hold an officer position as the Undergraduate Ambassador for NC State’s Society of Manufacturing Engineers Chapter and am an active member of The Society of Women Engineers. My goals are to one day work towards building better sustainability efforts globally and cutting the cost, time, waste, and resources used in manufacturing. I plan to achieve these goals by continuing my education and making an impact in my career. While achieving this goal, I also hope to continue to improve cross cultural relationships in the workplace and develop strong understandings of cultural competency.
