About Allison Ford

Throughout my entire life, I have always enjoyed problem-solving, analyzing situations, and finding practical solutions. When I sat down and thought about a career field that resonated most with me, finance became a natural choice. The structure, strategy, and impact of financial decision-making are incredibly compelling to me. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to think critically and strategically. I’m drawn to the challenge of interpreting data, assessing risk, and helping individuals or organizations make informed financial decisions. I’m especially motivated by the dynamic nature of the finance industry—there’s always something new to learn, and I find that both exciting and rewarding. Throughout my work history, I’ve gained experience in interpersonal communication, customer service, technical writing, and proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel—tools that are essential in finance for data analysis and reporting. During my time at Appalachian, I served as Vice President of the Residence Hall Council. In this role, I managed budgets for events, collaborated with teams to plan initiatives, and handled financial logistics for student programming. This experience gave me a glimpse into financial planning and reinforced my desire to pursue a career in finance. My professional goal is to work in a field where I can make a meaningful difference—helping people make smart financial choices and working with companies to optimize their financial health. While I’m proud of the skills I bring to the table, I’m equally excited to grow, learn, and gain hands-on experience in the finance industry.
