Others are established businesses that need help expanding. One client benefited from my specialist skills to prepare them for international acquisition by a venture capital organisation.BACKGROUNDBeing involved in all manner of family businesses from an early age, I have grown up with a fascination for finances and investing in commercial and residential properties. Most recently I am enjoying exploring investment opportunities in forex and Cryptocurrency. Initially a Cobol programmer in South Africa and following a move to the UK working for a recruitment company, I went on to establish a successful start-up IT recruitment company which at its height turned over more than £2.5m.In 2003, I was headhunted by an Artist Management company for my financial skills and during this time I built up an interesting array of other freelance clients including a music business, scuba training agency, bars, and restaurants to name a few. My most recent client of ten years was a speaker bureau which I initially joined on a project basis to resolve several specific problems. I was soon invited to take over the full accounting responsibility as the Finance Director, advising and developing international compliance as the company expanded to become the first Global Speakers Bureau with me as the Global Finance Consultant directing all financial activities.
