About Allison Groves

After I graduated from Kent State University, I started my career at Signet then transitioned to Genesis FS Card Services in 2017. I love working with not only team members, but also employees throughout the company to help them excel in their current position. I do this by evaluating and coaching them, as well as creating metrics to track their progress and identify opportunities. Additionally, I have created multiple job aids and work instructions for a variety of departments, and work directly with offshore partners to enhance KPI and SOPs. After countless hours of training and education, I am now a project manager working at SJE. The transition into a new role, company, and field has allowed me to put all of my new skills into action. I have been an active participant on numerous projects the past 3 years in my current role, and have become so passionate about working on projects that I decided to make a complete career shift. Over the past 3 years, I have grown to love the collaboration, communication, determination, and drive that being a Project Manager entails. I have applied and been accepted to take the PMP certification exam which requires 3 years of project experience, and am in the process of vigorously studying to further my knowledge and career. I am fluent in Microsoft Office programs, Google Drive programs, I use a MAC on a daily basis, and have worked in a call center environment for the past 7 years, so I am excellent at communicating, coaching, and mentoring, as my current role relies on that. I’m quite comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical team members, and I’ve had years of practice doing so. I’ve worked directly with internal and external stakeholders, from simple meetings with business analysts to being the sole representative for my company. I have been in official and unofficial leadership roles since 2010. I know that Project Management is about more than just the face value of managing projects, and I enjoy improving the efficiency and success of the project lifecycle. I am passionate about learning from (and teaching) those around me. I believe that by working as a team instead of a group of individuals, everyone comes out ahead!
