About Allison Gunn

My current work focuses on retaining top talent and finding exciting new strategies to guide employee engagement in higher education. I am using my educational backgrounds (BA in History, MA in Holocaust and Genocide Studies, and MA in Counselor Education) and my recent work experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion to lead my work. I am guided by curiosity and a passion for continuous learning in the work I do, seeking out multiple, often conflicting, perspectives and developing initiatives informed by evidence-based practices. I engage with others by challenging them to explore their positions and by supporting colleagues in their learning journeys. I am also unafraid of holding unpopular opinions and questioning practices that could potentially be harmful to people from often-excluded identities, especially practices that become buzzwords and themes. While I may come off as strange or unexpected, I will contribute and present authentically in any and all safe environments and may be able to help you see things differently in a way that can help others.
