About Allison Handberg

The importance of creativity was instilled in me from a young age, many of my childhood memories were of my sitting at the kitchen table with my grandfather painting, drawing and writing. My desire for being creative continued throughout my college career and continues to be my driving passion. Throughout my time in Cross Media – Graphics Management I learned about design, estimating, marketing, management, print, and the industry as a whole. I received experience in designing for print as well as web through my co-op with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. As a student I assisted faculty in the preparation of course work as well as gained the ability to assist other students in understanding the programs, equipment and industry. I have now been a part of the industry for 4 years working in various Production Artist roles working on well-known brands including Kellogg, General Mills, 3M, Coca-Cola and Kimberly Clark. In these roles I primarily make sure the art is consistent with the branding guidelines. A more recent role I have gotten the opportunity to add to my portfolio is adaptive designer. I have loved taking a new design and adapting it across multiple flavors or package sizes. In these past experiences my knowledge about the printing processes and industry has grown and I have found a new respect for all the hard-working individuals that are a part of this ever-changing industry.
