About Allison Jones

Music: I have played piano since I was three years old. I trained in classical music and once I learned to read, I taught myself many other kinds of music. I started guitar lessons at the age of eleven and was able to branch into folk and rock. I was the go-to piano sight-reader for my high school jazz band and sang in choir and honor choir, as well. During my last year of high school, I ran an open mic at a local cafe. From 2013-2014, I ran another one at Momi Toby's in San Francisco where I also booked concerts every Saturday night. I have played in several bands, accompanied musicals, and recorded on studio albums. I first started teaching in 2006, but in less than a year realized I was not quite ready. I have been teaching private lessons regularly since June 2015. Customer Service: My career in service started in 2005 at Big 5 Sporting Goods. I served as a cashier there for just shy of 1 year, then moved on to an establishment I had a much greater passion for - movie theaters. I was hired at The Guild Theater and The Aquarius Theater in 2006. After one year as floorstaff (box office/concessions/usher), I received a promotion to chief of staff. In 2010, I received a promotion and transfer to be the Second Assistant Manager at the Opera Plaza Theater. I helped at all Landmark Theatres in the San Francisco Bay Area until 2013. That year, I began my work in coffee. I started as a barista at Momi Toby's Cafe and Art Bar, where I began an events program and eventually became Manager. I worked second jobs as a barista at Bazaar Cafe, Village Market, and Peet's Coffee on 16th & Geary. Peet's was able to bring me on full-time and as I focused on my work there, I was offered a position as Shift Lead at Peet's Coffee on Chestnut Street in 2015. In 2016, I moved to Peet's Home Office to be a Customer Service Specialist.
