About Allison McClellan

I am a Healthcare Leader and Informaticist. My Masters of Science in Nursing degree with emphasis in informatics, and corresponding nursing informatics certification (RN-BC), set a solid foundation for the informatics work I have done over the years. Project Management and Change Management- Over the past 11 years I have been actively involved in leading and participating in several information technology projects using my informatics knowledge and experience to optimize project outcomes and lead teams through the change process. These projects have included new technology implementations, development of system integrations, documentation optimization, development and implementation of a surgical electronic medical record and a variety of quality improvement projects and strategic planning initiatives that have required actionable data. Data- I have a deep understanding of available data within the clinical, registration and financial systems which has made me a primary resource for surgery report development and troubleshooting. Learning- I seek to understand and adopt systems quickly. My ability to do this allows me to solve problems and develop tools or added education so others can more easily adapt. Relationship Building- I have a calm, sincere and persistent approach to my work which allows me to quickly develop trusting relationships with my colleagues. The ability to develop supportive networks of individuals that span across functional work areas allows me to access a network of expertise when solving a problem. Through listening and reading individual and group dynamics I am adept at preventing and resolving conflict. Advocate- I am a strong advocate for the user in both clinical and technology workflows. Thoughtful workflow design and functional considerations are essential. I have a strong interest and in User Experience Design and Research and have sought additional training in this area. Communication- As a leader I have developed strong written and verbal communication skills. I value organized and straightforward written communication. I have strong presentation skills and am effective at facilitating meetings.
