About Allison Morris

My interests are in community building, whether those communities are online or off. Nonprofits' role as community centers allows them to function as a resource where traditionally silenced populations gain agency and voice within a variety of spheres. By creating a space for the continuing conversations that make diverse voices into a society, nonprofits contribute sustainably to increased quality of life. I believe it is vital for us all to participate actively in the creation of our cultures, rather than to accept those culture as historical artifacts or as corporate media products. For that, we need to be able to speak freely, to problematize, to interact, and to transform the art, entertainment, environment, and information we hold in common.
