I have extensive experience assisting people to move into solutions with the following presenting struggles: Substance Misuse Problem Gambling Disordered Eating Depression Anxiety Grief and Loss The effects of trauma Anger Relationship Dilemmas Couples Work Family Members I began my counselling career in Vancouver while working with families struggling with the impacts of substance misuse. I was part of many non-profit teams: Mental Health Outreach counselling on the North Shore, the Child Psychiatric Unit at BC Children’s Hospital; Vancouver Coastal Health Mental Health and Addictions and still actively hold a contract with the BC Responsible and Problem Gambling Program. I currently work as an Individual & Family Therapist in my own private practice and oversee a growing team of Counselling Associates. I see clients in Vancouver and in the Comox Valley, as well as meet with clients over the phone and online. Online has surprised me in that it has offered such an intimate way of connecting with people. Not to mention the convenience of clients saving time and avoiding traffic, parking hassles while being in the comfort of their own homes. ​When asked to share about why I work in this field, I emphatically and wholeheartedly believe that change IS possible and that people can find freedom from their struggles no matter how deeply entrenched the patterns have become or how slight the change might need to be.
