About Allison Robertson

Currently, I am doing Freelance Content Writing and Copywriting for a fact-based entertainment website. I am also an active Freelance Photographer for families and events. Prior to my career break in 2015, I worked in a few different positions within the Career Services department of Niagara College Canada. I have extensive experience in recruitment, employer relations, marketing, social media, communications, career advisement, project management, and much more. I personally believe my strongest skill to be employer relations - I have excellent rapport building skills and enjoy meeting and working with people. I am a 2013 graduate of Niagara College's Business Administration- Human Resources Advanced Diploma Program. I also previously graduated from Durham College's Social Services Program, as well as the General Arts and Science program at Durham College. I maintained honour roll status throughout all 6 years of post-secondary. I believe that my background in the Social Services field plays an important role in my business career as I have knowledge and experience working with a diverse range of people and a thorough understanding of psychological and sociological perspectives. I also have extensive knowledge in communications and report writing. I consider myself to be a team player, but I also work very well independently and possess excellent leadership skills. I pride myself in being a quick learner and hold the ability to learn any and all new tasks and skills. My education, combined with my outgoing personality and work experiences, has allowed me to gain outstanding interpersonal communication skills and the ability to multitask in fast-paced environments. I completed my WSIB Health & Safety Certification Part 1 and 2 in August of 2012. I also hold a Mental Health First Aid certification, as well as a Life Coach certification. I have various other certifications, and have completed many workshops in both the Social Services field as well as the Business field. I have strong research, computer and administrative skills, and can type, on average, 80 wpm with minimal errors. Finally, I have a high work ethic and a coachable attitude. I am able to effectively prioritize and make informed decisions. I have a strong appreciation for diversity and professional judgement.
