About Allison Senyard

I am a choral conductor. I listen to the unique voices of those around me, generate excitement, bring people together and cultivate their gifts, while creatively shaping the way in which a defined goal is met.In 2015, I entered the classroom as a licensed choir and music teacher. I saw a competitive and cut-throat environment where certain voices were left unheard. I developed a program that met a variety of needs so that students could enter in from wherever they were and be a part of something that was truly beautiful. A music program of introductory music classes was transformed into a songwriting program, scaffolded choirs, and even some composition. I stirred enthusiasm and grew the choral department from 27 students to 120 in four years. Later, working at a church, I was able to identify gaps in communication and develop a media strategy to reach the audience. In seminary, I studied how to better hear people, identify needs in a community, and through camaraderie and clear communication, boldly do better.
