About Allison Stahl

I began my career working with children and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, with extensive trauma histories, who struggled to have their basic needs met. Seeing my client’s ability to rise above their circumstances and find stores of resilience within themselves has led me to believe passionately in the individual’s ability to cultivate joy and meaning in their lives, no matter the trials that they face. I approach therapy with the goal of creating a warm, collaborative, and safe environment and strive to help clients utilize their own inner resources and strengths to overcome their challenges. I am trained in a diverse range of evidence based therapeutic modalities, including Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Parents, and Parent Management Training, and am currently training at the Ackerman Institute in Couples and Family Therapy. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families addressing a wide range of therapeutic needs including anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, ADHD, bereavement, and work, school, and family issues.
