About Allison Targowski

I currently work in global affairs at a medical nonprofit association. I enjoy working with the different members of our association who have regional expertise to try and find intersection and understanding between countries. I've had the opportunity to work on needs assessment reports, where I specifically have worked on interviewing laboratory professionals based in middle to lower income countries. I have assisted with the planning and hosting of workshops hosted in the association's regions of need where local laboratory professionals attend and network with their peers. Gaining a global perspective of laboratory medicine has been an impactful addition to my overall sense of global health. I am a class of 2023 graduate from Indiana University with a degree in international studies from the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. I also obtained two minors: one in Spanish, and one in European studies. My goal is to pursue a career in sustainability and climate change. My specific environmental interests are sustainable transportation and infrastructure, air quality, nature-based infrastructure, and renewable energy. My interest in sustainable transport shows through my senior thesis about the sustainability and efficiency of railway systems in the United Kingdom and France.
