About Ally MacIndoe

With over 15 years of international experience in finance, I am a passionate and strategic leader who has extensive experience of both the commercial and not for profit sectors. Currently the Regional Finance Director MENA, for the British Council, based in Dubai, I lead a largely remote team of 100 finance and procurement professionals across 17 countries, and I'm responsible for all aspects of strategic and tactical finance and procurement across a diverse portfolio of business lines and countries. First and foremost, I believe that success comes from a diverse, motivated team, and I encourage those around me to thrive on data driven decision making. Attention to detail matters to me, but I have also envisaged, designed and delivered two strategic transformation projects – one in finance and one in procurement - each generating over $1.5m annual recurring savings, along with improved customer experience and greater career opportunities for the teams. Previously, I held a number of senior finance roles in the Virgin Group in the UK, India and Qatar, and Waterford Wedgwood plc, where I gained my first M&A experience. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) with PwC, London, and hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from University College London
