About Ally Welling

As a recent graduate from a CACREP Accredited counseling program, I am in the process of obtaining my LAC and beginning my professional journey. I am dedicated to my career and helping individuals navigate the complexities of relationships and life transitions. My bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in counseling has equipped me with a deep understanding of the human experience and given me the tools to facilitate healing and growth. I am particularly passionate about working with collegiate student-athletes as they navigate the transition to college and athletics. I feel my personal experience as a college student-athlete has equipped me with the compassion and understanding for this unique experience. My approach is holistic and client-centered, emphasizing the strengths of the individual while fostering a safe and supportive environment for open communication. I believe humans are constantly growing towards connections and relationships with others, and lean into the use of Relational Cultural Theory to help empower individuals to develop empathic and authentic relationships that allow a person to grow and understand their self-worth. I also believe in the power of awareness to help individuals make decisions about how they want to move forward in their life. There is still a lot of stigma surrounding mental health, especially in the world of athletics. As an advocate for mental health awareness, I hope to engage in workshops and seminars to educate communities about the importance of wellness and mental well-being. My goal is to inspire positive change and resilience in the people I work with, helping them to build stronger, healthier relationships.
