About Allysa Czerwinsky

My research interests span various aspects of digital criminology, including the intersections of technology, harm, and violence; understanding the structure of and polarising discourse used within communities affiliated with the Internet manosphere, inclusive of misogynist incels, misogyny influencers, and alt-right movements; AI companion apps and online harm; critical criminological approaches to online hate speech and violence; and ethical approaches to researching unsavoury communities. Demonstrated teaching expertise in areas related to security studies, terrorism, and online harms, as well as peer-review experience for academic journals published by SAGE, Wiley, and Routledge, including Crime, Media, Culture, Social Media + Society, Men and Masculinities, and the Journal of Gender Studies. My work has been published in Crime, Media, Culture; the Routledge Handbook of Conflict and Peace Communication; and the Routledge Handbook of Gender and Violence (2nd Edition).
