About Almira Arnold

I recently graduated from Bowdoin College with a Bachelor of Arts in Francophone Studies and a Biology minor. I have since moved home to St. Louis, Missouri, where I will be working as an EMT with Abbott EMS, expanding my clinical experience before I apply to medical programs. I bring a strong background in undergraduate basic science research: during the summers of 2021 and 2022, I pursued a virology research project in the Michael S. Diamond Laboratory, at Washington University in St. Louis; then, during the summer of 2023, I developed a disease ecology research project in Dr. Mary Rogalski's laboratory at Bowdoin. I was a member of the Varsity Field Hockey team throughout my time at Bowdoin, and most recently on campus I held a Project Coordinator role in Bowdoin's Office of Inclusion and Diversity and Title IX Office. During the fall of 2020, I took time away from Bowdoin and completed an accelerated EMT program in Missoula, Montana, and I have since volunteered as an EMT through Harpswell Neck Fire and Rescue back in Maine. I also spent my spring 2022 semester studying in Paris, which allowed me to immerse myself in the French language and culture and advance my major studies. All of these experiences have enriched my undergraduate education, and I look forward to continuing my professional development and exploring my interests in the process.
