As India’s healthcare sector grapples with climate risk, regulatory pressure, and rising patient expectations, the need for credible, systems-level sustainability leadership has never been greater. I am a sustainability and ESG leader with 13 years of cross-sectoral experience — now focused on embedding environmental accountability into the core of healthcare delivery. At Fortis Healthcare, I lead ESG strategy and execution across 28 hospitals, building performance frameworks aligned with SEBI-BRSR, JCI’s GHI chapter, and global reporting standards like GRI and ISSB. Recent achievements: • Reduced Per Occupied Bed energy intensity by 9.93% across 28 hospitals • Reduced Per Occupied Bed water consumption by 8.4% through optimization and reuse • Institutionalized ESG governance, reporting, training, and impact KPIs across all units • Made Fortis one of India’s most structured healthcare ESG stories — with zero greenwashing Prior to Fortis, I’ve shaped ESG in manufacturing (Jindal Stainless), sustainability in conglomerates (Tata Group as a TAS officer), and disaster resilience on-ground (Uttarakhand flood relief, 2013).
