About Alok Nandi

Alok Nandi is developing innovation design frameworks and scenarios in multiple sectors, from organisational strategies to immersive narratives (multiple media, VR AR XR) to hospitality food systems. As creative entrepreneur, he has followed the waves of digital transformation, designing for the web and then leading design teams for the.com presence of publishing companies in Belgium and France (Casterman, the publisher of a.o. Tintin; groupe Flammarion in Paris). He then got involved in EU funded R&D programs to explore storytelling with technologies, a.o. AR & VR installations for museums and public places. This made him co-founder of a spin-off specialised in interactive set-ups. In 2004, he launched Architempo to explore the multiple dimensions of design: from interactive solutions to pan-european strategic campaigns, from exhibitions (red dot design museum, St-Etienne Design Biennale) to interventions and conferences (chair of Interaction14 in Amsterdam, PechaKucha Nights w/ 60+ editions). Architempo’s clients range from education to institutions to companies in creative sectors as well as hospitality and food systems. Alok Nandi’s background combines electromechanical engineering, management degree and film studies. His first professional experience was brand management at Procter & Gamble. In 1991, he has authored a book on film maker Satyajit Ray, prefaced by Henri Cartier-Bresson. He designed an exhibition on Ray at Cannes Film Festival, which then toured at London Film Festival, Paris Festival d'Automne, Nantes 3 Continents, Aix en Provence, Brussels with film screenings and retrospective. Regular jury member (in the start-ups world as well as in new media, cinema and design) and invited lecturer, he is visiting professor in design schools, MBA programs and at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, focusing on innovation, creativity and design with hospitality and culinary professionals.
