About Alpha Renner
My research focuses on brain-inspired computing with spiking neural networks in software and on neuromorphic hardware. I am fascinated by the brain's efficiency and and want to find the missing links between the top-down and bottom-up approaches to understand its computation. My current research project investigates the brain’s navigation system and how cognitive maps and spatial memories are formed. The goal is to translate these insights into improved neuromorphic systems and NeuroAI.
