After a varied and successful career in Retail Financial Services I keep my mind active and share my experience in advisory and strategic roles, as a trustee, non-executive and consultant. My functional competencies focus on business growth strategy, sales, marketing and customer services underpinned by the data, product and operational capability required to deliver these. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Extensive pan-sector experience including mass market and niche affinity retail financial services (savings, current accounts, cards and lending), stockbroking, pension & life sales, wealth management, general insurance and corporate governance, predominantly in the UK, but with 9 years of GCC exposure. Experience in top flight PLC and mutual businesses, the public sector, a high growth “challenger” and four start-ups, two of which have been floated on the stock market (one in UK and one in the Middle East). Marketing and sales strategist behind three award winning start-up customer centric retail financial services businesses, Islamic Bank of Britain PLC (now known as Al Rayan Bank PLC), Principle Insurance Holdings Limited (trading as Salaam Halal insurance) and Bank Nizwa SAOG (Oman). Recruitment and development of marketing, sales and customer service teams from 1 up to 85 staff. Budget management of between £300k and £10 million. Significant change and project management experience having led workstreams creating new brands, new channels (offline & online), customer journeys, new propositions, new products and new businesses.
