About Aly Casto

I have a passion for helping others, whether that be as a friend, family member, peer, student, or employee. I pride myself on treating people the way I expect to be treated, with love, empathy, kindness, and acceptance. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology which sparked my interest in working with individuals with mental illnesses, therefore as an occupational therapist I plan to work within this population. I have chosen Occupational Therapy as a profession because I believe in looking at a person as a whole, not just another injured hand or foot. Additionally, I feel strongly in treating every person as their own person, instead of comparing them to others. Both of these aspects, holistic and client-centered care, are some of the foundations of occupational therapy practice. My overall life goals is to contribute my efforts to ending the stigma that surrounds mental illnesses and advocate for my clients.
