About Aly Durrett

One helping of flexibility, a heap of creativity, and a load of enthusiasm bundled together into one convenient designer. I am someone with a positive attitude who is committed to improving skills and adapting to new challenges. My degree in Visual Communication Design and minor in Anthropology makes me uniquely qualified to work in various markets where I can help my communities through the exchange of information and ideas. My skills and responsibilities with the USA TODAY Network have provided me with the chance to work for multiple publication markets across the United States. These sites stretch from Vermont to California and even includes Guam, providing me with the opportunity to work with and learn of over 100 different publications. This daily work has made me a flexible and adaptable employee who can work equally well with multiple moving deadlines as well as on continuing projects and has taught me both how to be a self-starter and to work on a team with multiple coworkers both remote and on site. I am well versed in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Lightroom and Bridge; Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Skype/Teams; both Mac and PC operating systems; and DSLR cameras. In addition to that I have illustration and photography skills and am knowledgeable in color theory, typography, and design hierarchy.
