About Alys Lease

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the University of Idaho - Go, Vandals! While I went to school, I worked as a bartender and server at local restaurants while doing volunteer work with a local veterans group, a tattoo parlor, and an online publication in a neighboring city. Keeping a full and busy schedule made it possible for me to thrive in a chaotic, busy time while still making the dean's list. As I moved away from my school work and into the professional world I started working part-time as a web technician for the Communications Department at the University of Idaho. This worked its way into two part-time jobs and eventually a full-time position with the Enrollment Management Department and University Communications. A few years into this position, I realized I was getting my skills as a web tech(building websites, creating new information architectures for department webpages, restructuring and updating webpages) but I was dying from my lack of interaction with people. I soon moved to Emsi (Economic Modeling Specialists International) where I became an Account Manager. For almost seven years, I managed over 1.2 million dollars and over 125 clients with high renewal and retention rates while building training courses, planning training events, company conference training, and building rapport with clients throughout the US. I thrived at industry conferences and spoke at regional training events. I helped work with clients through a difficult time when Emsi became Emsi Burning Glass and started working with more products and twice the clients. I took almost a year away from customer service to dive into Marketing Event Management. It took that year for me to realize I missed working hands-on with clients and that truly my passion is with Customer Service working to make the lives of clients better, their mission successful, and their work more streamlined. I realize that in all of my jobs, from the smallest as a clerk at the local Dollar Tree to the latest as a Marketing Events Manager, I can learn something new wherever I am. I am ready for my next challenge and can't wait to see what I learn along the way.
