I am Alyson Garcia and I have spent the last 5 years working in the biotechnology field at Twist Bioscience. Here, I have gained substantial experience working in Gene Synthesis Production on the Manufacturing Associate level. This includes performing many biology laboratory techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), DNA Cloning, and Next-Gen Sequencing (NGS) among others.My time at Twist has allowed me to perform lab work in ISO/GMP/LEAN environments. I have been able to step into leadership roles in the Gene Production department as a Manufacturing Lead, providing guidance, training, and overseeing teams of up to 15 people in size. Outside of the lab, I have performed much work behind the scenes as a Production Planner focusing on scheduling & order management, data analysis, and executing basic testing scripts to support new software launches to be used by the department.I have earned my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry/Biochemistry. Additionally, I have 4 years of experience working as a Chemistry Lab Assistant at an accredited 4 year university, with extensive experience in wet and dry chemical and reagents handling. This includes making & neutralizing solutions, equipment setup/maintenance, and inventory keeping.In addition to the work experience I have gained over the years, I am someone who is meticulous in my work, organized, motivated, and highly dedicated to being of service to others. I am able to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, and communication & problem solving has always come naturally to me. This makes me a team player, and a reliable colleague, always willing to offer support where I am able to.
