About Alyssa Caplan

Alyssa is a senior commercial lawyer, non-executive director and business owner who believes in the importance of contributing significantly to her roles. Alyssa has over 20 years’ experience in the law both in private practice at Allens Arthur Robinson and as a corporate lawyer at Accenture. Alyssa is currently an independent non-executive director of St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria (Vinnies Victoria) and its subsidiaries, VincentCare Victoria and VincentCare Community Housing. Alyssa is also an active member of the Ruyton Girls’ School community, including as a member of the Ruyton Girls School Foundation Committee (a Subcommittee of the Board) supporting the school in the implementation of its Strategic Directions. Alyssa has broad corporate and commercial legal skills with a focus on technology law – specialising in the negotiation of large and complex IT projects and services agreements (including in relation to data protection and cyber security). At Accenture, she held several roles on executive leadership teams, including co-leading the legal teams supporting Australia & New Zealand and 65 lawyers across APAC. In each of these roles, she built strong relationships with Accenture’s senior executive leadership teams across multiple jurisdictions and became a trusted advisor, often relied upon to critically evaluate opportunities, assess risk and suggest possible mitigations. Alyssa has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce – Major in Economics. She is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
