About Alyssa Cedillo

Alyssa M. Cedillo, M.A, LPC-S, RPT-S™, IP-CST, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in Texas, Colorado, and Florida. Specializing in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, Alyssa is deeply passionate about her work as the Clinical Director of Tree of Life Counseling Center and President of the Root of It Foundation. She advocates for decolonized mental health practices and intergenerational healing, integrating play therapy, somatic abolitionism, body-oriented modalities, and ketamine-assisted therapy across individual, family, and community settings. Alyssa provides supervision, rapid crisis response, telehealth services, and clinical training. She also conducts speaking engagements and consultations for future providers and fully licensed professionals seeking to deepen their skills in trauma-informed, decolonized practices. She was honored with the 2023 St. Mary’s University Alice Franzke Feminist Award for promoting peace, empowerment, and equality. Alyssa, born and raised in San Antonio, TX, is a Chicana disruptor of systems of oppression. She embodies and frequently expresses the belief that "We rise together."
