About Alyssa Cotterell

Materials Engineer with 10+ years experience in industrial material processing (Steel and Alumina). Highly motivated in the production areas of industry with interest in performance improvement. Confident speaker that is considerate of others ideas and willing to brainstorm for greater production of ideas. I have worked on projects to increase understanding of mill operating conditions as well as safety compliance. Shown leadership skills through volunteer work requiring strong direction for upcoming STEM students. Have experienced shift work as a team leader understudy, where I was given the opportunity to act as a team leader for some shifts. This is something I very much enjoyed and found beneficial for improving my people and influencing skills. I enjoy getting my hands dirty and working onsite. This has been fostered by an upbringing with farming parents requiring help with various jobs on the farm. An ideal day at work for me is fast-paced and full of new challenges. In my spare time I enjoy playing football, dancing and taking my dog for walks in the bush or down the beach. Being outside is something I enjoy however I also have an interest in computer and console gaming despite my poor ability in some games.
