About Alyssa Ezequiel

Hi, I’m Alyssa! I’m currently working on dual master’s degrees in Social Work (MSW) and Public Health (MPH) at Florida International University, with a focus on clinical social work and health promotion and disease prevention. I’m passionate about serving society through education and advocacy, working to promote equitable access to resources and opportunities that empower individuals and support their growth. You’ll notice that my professional journey has been a bit untraditional. What began as simply jobs to support me through school evolved into a commitment to staying in spaces where individuals might not otherwise have access to the resources and knowledge I’ve been privileged to gain as a social work and public health student. I quickly realized that even in these unconventional environments, where a social worker or public health practitioner was not traditionally asked for, they too could benefit from a social work and public health lens. These roles allowed me to do meaningful work rooted in service to others, genuine respect, connectedness, and a commitment to upholding integrity, competence, and humility. Ultimately, this not only supported the organizations I worked with but also allowed me to genuinely help the individuals I served. I’ve been fortunate enough to lead teams of emerging adults through professional development and support small business owners in connecting with their communities. As I continue to transition into formal social work and public health roles, the skills and experiences I’ve gained along the way remain invaluable and transferable. At my core, my work will always be about meeting people where they’re at, providing support, educating them to make more informed choices, and connecting them to resources that support their continued growth and success.
