About Alyssa Foster

Hi, I’m Alyssa, a student-first admissions professional and soon-to-be MSc Forensic Psychology student who is passionate about helping people navigate complex systems, whether that’s university admissions or the psychology behind human behavior. Most recently, I worked as an Admissions Officer at Mount Allison University (my alma mater and second home), where I managed our main admissions inbox, processed a high volume of applications with Ellucian Recruit and Colleague, and developed internal tools and documentation to support training and consistency. I also advised students on course selection, assessed scholarships, and tasks such as program changes, resolving ERP errors, admissions meetings, and personalized offer letters. This fall, I’ll be starting my MSc in Forensic Psychology at Ontario Tech University, with research interests in police psychology, particularly investigative interviewing, deception detection, and how research can inform real-world practice. I hold a BSc First Class Honours in Psychology with Distinction from Mount A, where I completed an honours thesis on perinatal health and gained experience in research, mentoring, data analysis, and cross-cultural psychology. I’m always learning, asking questions, and excited for what’s next!
