About Alyssa Gilbert

I am a high school math and science teacher, with 9 years of experience in Ontario high schools. For the past 4 years, I have been focused on implementing Feedback Focused Assessment (or UNgrading) in a wide range of classes. My most recent key successes in this role are- Acting as a Destreaming Lead Teacher for the 2022/23 school year, allowing me to research & test best teaching practices for grade 9 destreamed classes and share those practices with other teachers through professional development sessions - Implementing research-based teaching strategies such as The Thinking Classroom, UNgrading, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Culturally Relevent & Responsive Pedagodgy (CRRP)- Co-convening the regional Reach for the Top league of 16+ local schools Aside from teaching, I am an avid fibre artist.
