About Alyssa Lawrence
In May 2022, I transitioned from being a first-gen college student to a first-gen college graduate. In 4 short years I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Environmental Engineering. 12 year-old me wouldn't have imagined it. 12 year-old me went to Manning's High School in Jamaica, dreaming of what could be. I knew I wanted to go to college; I also knew I wanted to make a career in the science field, that's before I learned about environmental engineering. I just couldn't picture it happening then, but here I am seeing it in real life, today. Today I work at my first 'big girl' job straight out of college. Water/wastewater treatment is an interesting field to work in, and I'm slowly developing my skillset. I look forward to a life full of learning.
