Background
About Alyssa Lefebre
I have a Bachelor’s in science in nursing from Grand Canyon University and nearly 3 years of proven experience working in a fast-paced environment with patients of varying acuity. I am organized, calm, priority-driven, and proficient in bedside skills. My love of nursing comes from a place of connection with my patients and meeting their needs with quality care and compassion. In my previous role as a registered nurse at The Medical Center of Aurora, I demonstrated skills in assessing patients rapidly, as well as developing a plan of care centered around the patient. I had up 6 patients regularly and provide personal, professional care to each of them daily, re-assessing them consistently. I have been recognized as caring, competent, a leader, and a true team player. In addition to my role as a bedside nurse, I have had 6 months of charge nurse experience on the floor. This role includes supervising nurses in their bedside role as well as managing any emergencies that come up during the shift. In this role I have learned how to ask for help often, how to facilitate communication between many members of the hospital care team, and how to multitask proficiently. In my role in the ICU at The Medical Center of Aurora I developed further skills of detailed assessments, managing drips and multiple other medications, as well as calm response to emergent situations. I also managed complicated communication with all members of the care team: Patients, physicians, therapists, family members, etc. I developed independence as well as new teamwork skills. I am able to connect with patients to make personalized care plans using positivity, dedication, and a desire to provide excellent patient care. I’m my current role as an outpatient infusion nurse at RMIDS, I have developed case management skills and learned how to be involved in the patient’s life following the hospital to coordinate care and do what is best the the patient and their healing. I have gained triage skills, further communication skills, and improved my IV skills as well. I have also earned PICC placement training and skills, being able to independently insert PICC and midline’s often. I enjoy connecting with patient’s and providing support for them after leaving the complicated acute care setting. I enjoy patient teaching about home IV antibiotic administration and being able to provide reassurance and independence to patients through our on call service.
