I am currently completing my final semester at California Baptist University, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024. Throughout my nursing education, realizing that this profession is not just a career choice for me—it is truly my calling. My deep love and passion for healthcare drive my commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others. During my clinical experience and working in the pediatric field has reinforced my passion for this specialty. Engaging with young patients and their families transforms my work into a fulfilling passion rather than just a job. I am dedicated to providing holistic care that addresses the needs of both the child and their family, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment for all. Working at CHOC has provided me with extensive experience in delivering family-centered patient care that is sensitive to age, cultural, and spiritual needs, engaging with diverse patient populations. I have developed strong customer satisfaction and communication skills through daily interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams, while prioritizing tasks efficiently and maintaining organized workflows. Through continuous collaboration and responsiveness to changes in staffing or workload, I have learned to adapt creatively, meet high standards, and contribute to the mission of providing exceptional care. My aspiration to work within the pediatric specialty and NICU has been a driving force in my life, inspiring me each day to fulfill this calling. Through my experience at CHOC, I have gained valuable insights into caring for this unique population and developed essential skills necessary for delivering high-quality care. These skills include pediatric assessment, effective communication, empathy and compassion, and critical thinking. My ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
