Background

About Alyssa Rodriguez

I am a highly motivated and student success focused cheer coach and social science teacher who is eager to get into the classroom and help students take ownership of their own education. In my time student teaching at Fullerton Union High School I have developed successful core lesson plans focusing on World History and Economics. As a government teacher I have lesson planned and executed lessons in Principles of American Democracy. As a first year teacher I have gained the confidence in classroom management, grading, and building rapport with my students. During my time as a student teacher two classes I taught were sophomore collaboration classes. These classes were enlightening and allowed me to expand my teaching tool box, especially with differentiation. My main focus is to provide every opportunity for success no matter their special, physical, or cognitive needs. My biggest goal is for each student to feel comfortable, supported, and have the tools to take ownership of their own education. When I am not in the classroom I am coaching the Varsity cheer team for Villa Park, attending ASB activities, and any school wide sporting event. Coaching has taught me how to build greater rapport with my students, manage conflicts, push my players to their highest potential and overall, patience.
