About Alyssa Smith

A graduate of the University of Guelph-Humber Justice Studies program with a focus on Community and Justice Services. My studies have allowed me to combine a theoretical approach of community justice with hands-on experience in the field providing me with the ability to understand the impact of law, the importance of building community relationships and understanding the organizational structure of services. Through my education in law fused with my passion for community justice I have developed a greater understanding of the impact of community and societal issues. My experience working within higher education and with marginalized youth has exposed me to the resilience and determination of young people when given the opportunity to excel in post-secondary and in life. Transferring my academic and hands-on experience to the work force, I am able to expand my knowledge to support and motivate members of the community to be their best versions of themselves. My goal is to help build stronger community relationships while continuing to be a community advocate.
